What’s Covered During a Visit
Boss Laser fiber preventive maintenance focuses on the service areas outlined in the agreement: Mechanical & Motion Systems, Optical System, Pneumatics & Gas Delivery, Electrical & Safety Systems, Cooling System, General System Health, and Air Compressor.
Mechanical & Motion Systems
Z-axis limits are verified, hard limit travel on the X, Y, and Z axes is checked, and linear guides, ball screws, and motion rails are inspected for wear and proper lubrication. If applicable, the pallet change or shuttle table system is also checked for chain drive integrity, alignment, smooth travel, and sensor function.
Optical System
The beam is centered using alignment tools, and test cuts are performed to confirm precision.
Air Compressor
Air lines and the desiccant filter are checked as part of the PM visit.
Pneumatics & Gas Delivery
O2 and N2 gas sensors are checked, low-limit alarms are verified, regulators and flowmeters are reviewed for consistency and accuracy, and gas lines are inspected for leaks or deterioration.
Electrical & Safety Systems
E-stops and interlocks are confirmed to be functioning, and electrical connections and cable management are inspected for wear or signs of arcing.
Cooling System
Service includes draining and replacing chiller water, replacing water and air filters in the chiller system, inspecting coolant lines and fittings, and verifying chiller setpoint temperatures and error alarms.
General System Health
The visit includes a full dampener check with documented performance and maintenance suggestions, observation of the machine under operation for at least one full shift, and cleaning and inspection of internal and external fans, filters, and venting.
Why Fiber Laser Preventive Maintenance Matters
Fiber systems depend on reliable motion, accurate beam alignment, stable gas delivery, proper cooling, and functioning safety systems. Preventive maintenance helps identify wear, leaks, blockages, and performance issues before they create larger service problems.
This service is designed to help support:
- Consistent machine performance
- Precision cutting results
- Cleaner system operation
- Fewer avoidable interruptions
SERVICE NOTES
- PM service is performed by Boss Laser Field Service Engineers.
- Replacement parts identified during the visit are invoiced separately.
- Additional repair labor outside the PM scope is invoiced separately.
