On Tuesday, October 24th, 2023, Boss Laser had the privilege of teaming up with the Manufacturers Association of Central Florida (MACF) for the Made in Central Florida Expo at the Orange County Convention Center, an event that connects the manufacturing industry with the future workforce. By bringing together manufacturers, educators, students, guidance counselors, and industry partners from across Central Florida, we aim to spark curiosity, foster connections, and drive the growth of our local manufacturing ecosystem.
At this event, Kari-Ann Stein, our Human Resources Manager, along with Ken Trenholm, our Demo Technician, and Matt Isaacson, our Sample Technician, spent the day alongside other prestigious Central Florida Manufacturers and Educational Institutions. Together, they dedicated their day to presenting the captivating career opportunities that the younger generation can explore in the world of manufacturing & technology as they set out on their journey to find a career.
The event served as an excellent platform for our team to engage with students, educators, and aspiring professionals, highlighting the diverse and innovative opportunities available within our industry. Kari-Ann, Ken, and Matt enthusiastically shared their expertise and insights about the laser industry while performing demonstrations on the LS-1420 and FM-Station, inspiring attendees to consider the rewarding pathways that await them in their future careers.
The best part of the event was seeing the smiles on those kids’ faces as they saw the machine start to engrave on the tumblers. They were truly mesmerized by what a laser could do, and I am glad I got to be a part of it

Kari-Ann shared her experience of working in the world of manufacturing with the students to give them a different perspective on what working in the manufacturing field can look like. “When you think of manufacturing, it’s not just about production, machinery, and warehouses. Roles like engineering, quality control, accounting, and customer support are also essential. I started at Boss not having a clue what lasers do, now I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.”
Participating in this event was a privilege, as we aspire to motivate today’s youth to explore the realm of manufacturing and discover the array of opportunities and possibilities that await them in their future careers.
Thank you to MACF and Donnie Casey for giving us a platform to share our passion for manufacturing while connecting with a variety of industry enthusiasts and future leaders.
